Fiji Welcomes the Delhi Declaration 2026 at IICDEM 2026

Fiji, through the Electoral Commission (EC) and the Fijian Elections Office (FEO), participated in the successful conclusion of the India International Conference on Democracy and Election Management (IICDEM) 2026, convened by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in New Delhi, India. The three-day conference concluded with the unanimous adoption of the Delhi Declaration 2026, reaffirming global commitments to strengthening democratic governance and credible electoral systems.

The Fiji delegation was led by Justice Usaia Ratuvili, Chairperson of the EC, and Sanjeshwar Ram, Director Corporate Services, FEO. The delegation was warmly supported by the Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana Shri A Sreenivas and the Fiji High Commission in New Delhi, reflecting the strong spirit of international cooperation and diplomatic partnership.

During the conference, the Fiji delegation engaged in high-level bilateral discussions with the ECI, including support for cooperation through ECINET, and explored broader collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs. These engagements opened avenues for technical cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and institutional strengthening.

Through continued global dialogue and partnerships anchored in the Delhi Declaration 2026, Fiji reaffirms its commitment to transparent, credible, and future-ready electoral processes.
