The Electoral Commission today submitted its 2023 and 2024 Annual Reports to His Excellency the President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu during a courtesy call at State House. Following the courtesy call at the State House, the Electoral Commission also presented the reports to the Speaker of Parliament, Honourable Filimone Jitoko at the Speaker’s Chambers in the Parliament Complex.

The Electoral Commission delegation was represented by Commissioner Susana Naisara, Commissioner Ratu Inoke Loganimoce, and Commissioner Reginald Jokhan.

The submission of the Annual Reports is made in accordance with Section 75(4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Fiji 2013, which requires the Electoral Commission to deliver its annual report to the President, with a copy provided to Parliament.

The reports outline the activities and oversight functions of the Electoral Commission during the reporting period, including work relating to electoral governance, stakeholder engagement, and efforts to strengthen Fiji’s electoral processes. The reports also include the Fijian Elections Office Annual Report as an annexure, providing a comprehensive overview of the implementation of electoral activities and administration during the period.

The Electoral Commission reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out its constitutional responsibilities with independence, transparency, and accountability, in support of free and fair elections in Fiji.
